Choose sides: Black, White, Asian or Hispanic?

I've never been a fan of this show. Is this publicity stunt the level the networks will stoop to reach in order to gain ratings?? No wonder people are turning away from this crap...my two cents. Brian-member of the human race

This show should emulate that "You are what you do not what you think or say". and thats it. Of course, the stereotypical convos that may occur during the show will probably be highlighted by the producers, which Im sure will instigate bath and bar room hogwash as to the reality of it all. The producers should get what they want with this.

Leticia, I totally agree with you that the producers of this show have found a way to add a whole new audience that probably never watched it before. A friend of mine and I were just discussing this yesterday. You can sure bet that every racious, bigoted (of all races)person that believes their race is far supperior to the other ones is a faithful viewer this year. My friend and I have agreed however to not watch it when we usually do every year because of this overtone to again try and keep all races seperate and battling against one another. I know our 2 votes do not count when it comes to ratings when I am sure we are covered up by new viewers but we still do have a choice on weather to hit that little button or not and we are choosing to watch something else. It seems like we love to take one step forward and 4 back when it comes to interracial relations. Sincerely Dave

I won't be watching. I believe the concept is just an effort to make money without providing anything of value in return. Very American. However; I suppose there are those who might be entertained by it. I don't think I would and I have better things to do with my time. I WON'T BE WATCHING

Another form of the tasteless garbage the networks try to feed a mindless audience with nothing better to do with their lives. We don't watch or own a television here preferring quality family time or other activities. I agree with Ray above and we won't be watching it either.

I try to follow every episoled but i have missed alot bcos i travelled...i just came back. I really liked this season's show. It brings the world together and let everyone know that we r all one. So i wont be siding just only one team/group, i will be siding all the groups. I wish them luck.

It's garbage, and because it is it goes prime-time. Thats television for you. Why don't networks a "real" reality show. Let's go find out the rich get richer, and poor get screwed. Let's find out why the world doesn't like the U.S. Why is there poverty, racism, and George Bush and nothing is being done about it. Maybe people could actually learn something.

I think it's about time too have a show where it really doesn't matter what race you are. This may be the only way we can show people, "Hey this can work". That this can have a positive affect on the people wathcing. After all, we do spend alot of time in front of the tube.

I don't care to watch ANYTHING that put races against each other. I have never been impressed with the show and now I CERTAINLY DO KNOW I AM NOT IMPRESSED!

You want to know what the word stupid means? SURVIVOR!!!!!( a la the show/network).

I haven't had much use for broadcast TV for some time and this show hasn't done anything to alter that. Not that I'm an elitist walking a higher path pondering life's mysteries such as "Why are we here?" and "who DID let the dogs out?" but I AM insulted by laugh tracks that tell me what is funny. I'm kind of saddened by these pairings since it seems that America appears to be regressing in general IMHO. But who knows? I try to be open minded...maybe I'll tune in for the Buddhist/Muslim/Christian/Mormon Tabernacle choir edition...

I watched the second half of what I think might've been the first episode. Aside from the group divisions (which is NOT a minor point), I didn't see anything overtly racist happening on the show. Nonetheless, people with strong prejudices will certainly look at the behaviors of the groups through a very different lens than mine, and are likely to be able to pick things out of the show that will serve to reinforce their racial stereotypes--just as they do in real life. Thus, overall, I don't see this show having any major cultural impact. They got some press over doing a controversial team arrangement, which likely increased viewership. That's all they need. Did anyone see the FX show "Black. White." last season? That was very interesting. I hoped that seeing ostensibly liberal white people behave in such a bumbling fashion around race issues would be helpful for white viewers to see (so that they could decide to do all of that very differently!)

Just ignorant...Just plain ignorant. Tv has always been a tool, and it has served for good as much as for bad...and this time it's for the bad. YOU KNOW their is going to be some racial tension surfacing. Not simly necessarely because there are different ethnic groups, but because each individual is specialy picked with regards to their personality...firy or outspoken, or blunt and crude. And in the odd sweetheart that will crack and then forced to expose something, somoene they aren't...just plain ignorant! If i may quote my favorite MC, KRS-ONE: "people, don't be mad at the gun...be mad at the conscious that is behind, holding the gun"...that, in this case, being the show producers.

I think this is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I will no longer be watching this show. TV has gone to new limits just to get viewers.

That is the whole idea of what is wrong with this country. So many people grouping "races" together to see who is more suited for something else. Give me a break with that stuff

the producers of this show and others like it all know how to do one thing really well, and that's how to get the best viewing figures. it's down to the viewing public to decide if they are going to allow themselves to be sucked into watching this mindless rubbish. needlees to say, there will be many people who will watch it and not find anything wrong with it. there is enough segregation going on in this world already, and i for one don't need to see it, especially when it's masqueraded in our faces as so called "entertainment".

I won't be watching it. I stop watching it a long time ago because it doesn't make any sense to see people plotting against one another.

yes it is sad!!! but the only thing we can do is shake our head and talk about putting someone's balls in their milk or something....or send them a letter (which i'm sure half of america has already done so) saying ''dont keep repeating dumb s**t over and over...that's the definition of ignorant'' and the idea of splitting races to get tv ratings is just that....ignorant.

On a second note, the whole thing is made worse by the media. Suppose, say media gives such a project a black out. No one shall know it exists.

All we need is to light a spark (or should I say a bad fire) to destroy what we have tried to educate people about for a long time, stereotypes, black vs white, gangs vs the law. It takes an eternity to get people to change their beliefs and gain understanding of the richness of different cultures and ethnic backgrounds, and that human beings are just that, human beings, regardless of the color of their skin, but it can take minutes to trash anything we have gained in the process by promoting entertainment like this. All for the mighty dollar$ It doesn't make sense, hasn't anyone been listening?

i have watch two seasons of that show and does not plan on watching it again, its senseless to me

I used to watch "survivor" how ever i have lost interest. This is sooo sad of the producers, that they needed to do that for ratings, i just hope people realize that its a show and realise its a show and how ignorant people are just to make a dollar. Im so disappointed in CBS. NO matter what they state were are all 100% equal.

The show is racist.

It was a really stupid idea, but it got them what they wanted - lots of attention and probably some ratings.

Dont shows like Friends and Sex and the City already tell us that there is racial segregation. We don't often see other races in these prime time programmes.

I think there is too much segregation of races in our society all ready. To have a programme that encourages this is in my opinion terrible!

I think the producers had good intentions, however once the backlash started they did the right thing and merged the tribes. I have watched the other survivors and it was starting to get old and they knew that. I think Dave Chappelle hit the nail on the head when he did his rendition of the "real world" with one white person and the rest of the cast being african american. Though it was a little harsh it put an interesting twist on all these reality shows. Obviously the message he tried to get across is that the reality that television tries to convey isnt really reality. Kudo's to Dave for that.

I think that this is another way to add fuel to the fire, but I will watch so I guess cbs plan worked. but I really dont care who wins, but I guess it dont matter the whole plan is to get peoplle to watch thus more MONEY for cbs that is the whole bottom line.

I am sooo tired of all the reality shows on television these days. When you think about it, they really aren't reality show because how many of us live our daily lives with a camera in our face.

Deny it or accept it.. Racism exists in every walks of life.

I'll be glad when the world sees in one color...people color. I'm just sad that it won't be in my lifetime.

I think the set-up is racist. Too me it implies that some how on race is better than the other whether its something physical or mental or intelligence. Why haven't people gotten pass this yet? I could understand it better if it had something positive to contribute but it doesn't. IMHO!
